Willem van Oranje

Looking for some authentic Dutch ‘Orange-colored’ history? Take a trip to Dillenburg, where Willem van Oranje was born in 1533. From the original castle that held his crib is almost nothing left. However, you can still visit the Willem’s tower, a monument that marks the exact spot where the castle used to be. There’s a museum in this tower that tells of all the trials and tribulations Willem has endured. A complete family-tree from the Houses of Nassau and Orange-Nassau is also on display here.
